Class Details

Open Mat is unstructured training time for members to roll, drill, and connect with teammates. No formal instruction — just space to apply what you have learned, get live reps, and sharpen your game.
Use Open Mat to drill specific positions, roll with partners of different styles, and build the mat time that turns techniques into instinct. Coaches are often present for quick feedback between rolls.
Open Mat runs Sundays 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM. Free. Any gym welcome. All DAK members and visiting grapplers are invited to come roll, drill, and connect.

Do I need prior experience to start?

Open Mat is best after at least a few classes so you have some foundation to roll from. Brand new to the mats? Start with a regular Gi, No-Gi, or MMA class first.

Open Mat is for active DAK members, adults of all belt ranks. Visitors should reach out beforehand.

Wear comfortable athletic clothing, and we’ll provide the rest. Bring water and a positive attitude!

Come ready to roll — gi or rash guard + shorts. Bring water, tape if you need it, and respect every training partner.
